Hopper Hotel Et Cetera

100% love it
Bunk with the Merciful Montabaur Brothers
In the dark days of the Weimar Republic, the brothers of this former monastery dished out nearly 3,000 free meals a day to more unfortunate Kolners. Closed in 1974, it is now a gay-friendly three-star hotel with considerably cosier decor than in the monks' day. Close to the gay venues around Rudolfplatz and the Aachener Weiher and Stadtgarte parks and beer gardens. Onsite restaurant open 7 am-11 pm. Free wi-fi, gym and sauna. Parking 13 euros daily. Online bookings accepted. From 95/135 euros single/double; honeymoon and other packages available. Hopper has two sister properties in Cologne, also in former religious establishments; the St. Antonius is on a side street in the central city with cathedral views from the upper floors.
